Hiellen Longhouse Village Lift Station – Sewer Infrastructure Upgrade
At Hiellen Longhouse Village, Tekton Construction solved a long-standing wastewater problem caused by one of the most challenging site conditions imaginable — an extremely high water table. The existing septic system had no field capacity, and the old tanks would float away every year during seasonal flooding.

Our team rebuilt the entire sewer system from the ground up, installing new, higher-capacity holding tanks anchored securely to the ground to withstand the constant pressure of the water table. This required excavating and dewatering eight feet below the water table, a complex process carried out over 21 continuous days. Using high-capacity submersible pumps, we removed more than 2,000 liters of water per second while maintaining environmental safeguards.

Specialty pumping equipment was sourced and supplied specifically for this project to ensure reliable performance and meet the unique site challenges. The result is a stable, long-lasting lift station that delivers increased sewage capacity, prevents tank displacement, and provides the community with dependable year-round service.
